An academic book is the result of in-depth research with the purpose of making an original contribution to a particular field of study for an academic audience. Academic books will give you a better understanding of your topic. After initial investigations, but before pursuing scholarly articles, it is a good idea to spend time reading academic books for the purpose of research.
